The Cereal Boss Babe - A Scoop of Shub's Life
Multi-tasking is no easy task, but that’s exactly Shub’s forte! Shub is the Founder of the well-known, informative lifestyle & parenting blog RainbowDiaries.com. She also runs some of the huge Facebook and WhatsApp groups for moms, along with her personal Instagram @Shub_SG - talk about being a pro at multi-tasking! Shub is an IT professional, wife to a loving and supportive husband, and a full-time working mom to 2 adorable kids. If you’re curious what her age is, here’s what Shub has to say: “Age is just a number so I will say I am 16++” ;)
“If you want something you have never had then you got to do something you have never done.” This is the quote that constantly motivates Shub to try out new things, and serves as a reminder whenever she’s feeling low. In general, Shub shared that she derives her motivation from within, being a relatively self-motivated individual. Apart from that, her family and the wonderful momtribe she has on Instagram, Facebook and Whatsapp keeps her going and bustling with ideas.
We’ve also asked Shub some personal questions, where she shared some of her past experiences that moulded her to the strong, efficient mom she is today. Here’s what went down.
Q: Tell us more about how you coped with a hurtful experience and emerged stronger
A:Not hurtful as such but it was indeed extremely trying period for my family and myself, when my baby girl was born after 24-weeks of gestation period weighing just 768 grams. Those 2.5 months spent in NICYU taught me things that I wouldn't have learned otherwise. By God's grace, the efforts of the Paeds and constant support of family, I emerged tougher indeed. In fact, I would say this baby gifted me not only mommyhood but also the strength and ability to cope with scary times.
Q: How do you handle stress?
A: Stress is something that can affect not only your mind but your health too. So I try my best to keep it at bay as much as I can. My go-to ways to manage stress include deep breathing; unwinding; doing some really random and silly things with my kids; going out on dates with my hubby; retail therapy and writing blog posts that help cope with my feelings.
Q: Which lady in your life inspires you the most?
A: I am very thankful for the 2 strong ladies who made me who I am today. I was raised by my maternal grandma who had a small home business, and she has been my everlasting inspiration. She nurtured me with all the love she had, and not forgetting, good food! The second lady is my mom who was a banker. She taught me great life hacks on how to effortlessly balance everything - family, work, kids and thrive.
