The Cereal Boss Babe - A Scoop of Faith's Life

Former cabin crew, wife to a doting husband who is a pilot from Singapore Airlines, frequent jetsetter, edupreneur, and social media guru - meet Faith, otherwise known by her social media handle @faithvanitytable.

Being in the airline industry, it comes with no surprise that Faith enjoys the lifestyle of frequent travelling and jetsetting. Beyond that, Faith also identifies herself as an edupreneur, i.e. an educator and an entrepreneur in one. As a MOE trained private tutor, Faith founded and used to fully manage an online tuition agency which has since been handed over to her partner, so that she could focus more on teaching and on my side hustle - social media content creation.

Faith spends her evenings attending media events, or creating content to post on her social media platforms. She enjoys creating content around the beauty industry, ranging from tips, product & service reviews and make up tutorials. Knowing that her content can benefit her friends and followers in their next beauty decision, it fuels her drive despite the long hours it takes to create her videos (on average, each video takes about 10 hours).

24 hours a day seems hardly sufficient for the lifestyle Faith leads, but she makes a conscious decision to lead an active lifestyle. She commits herself to work out at least 8 hours each week, and this active lifestyle has given her more happiness and fulfillment that she could ever have imagined. Faith’s passion is in dancing, being a competitive Chinese dancer back in her schooling days, and she now spends her time learning other dance genres like lyrical jazz and urban/hip hop. “My super encouraging exercise/dance buddies and I are always pushing each other to complete that one extra hour of dance or workout!” she shares.

Faith shows us that the pursuit of one’s goals can also be done alongside one’s passion. Finding the right balance and time management is the way to go! We had a chance to find out more about Faith on Cereal Boss Babe, and here’s what went down.

Q: What inspires you?

A: As a tutor, a social media personality and a blogger, I find inspiration in many places and spaces. The faces of the little children I see motivates me to be a better teacher, a more responsible adult and an inspiring figure to them. I take inspiration in the everyday. Meeting new people during social events & on my travels allow me to develop a fresh perspective of life all the time.

Being an INJF (MBTI personality testing), I am naturally fascinated by how humans think, why they behave the way they do, and how they get there at the same time and same place as me. So I’d say it is indeed a privilege to have the opportunity to meet people of all ages and from all walks of life on a daily basis; through which our conversations and interactions are my source of inspiration. My nightly journal entries include a summary of what I have done, learnt and talked about each day. (Yes, I keep a reflection journal! And that’s actually how I started my very first personal blog 20 years ago!)

Q: What are the ideal attributes you’d love your partner to have?

A: Although I am married, I am still delighted to answer this question! In fact, being in my 30s and having been married for 6 years (plus I was also in several long relationships before my marriage), my younger friends often come to me seeking advice for their relationship problems. Over time, I realise that some fundamental issues stem from how they choose their partner, so knowing yourself well and what you need versus what you think you need is extremely important.

For starters, there is no ideal partner. What we should strive to do is to be the ideal person for ourselves and hopefully for our other half as well.

Personally, I think it’s vital that my partner share similar life/world view, beliefs and values. This takes priority over other “nice to have” attributes such as financial success and good looks. From young, my mom taught me that I should never date bad boys, especially those with serious character flaws, bad habits and worse, addictions. Hence, this is also something I want to tell the singles out there! Go for integrity, a kind personality and someone with similar values as you and most importantly, who will be committed to love you through the good times and bad. I am very blessed to have met my someone. ;)

Q: How do you handle stress?

A: Prayers, sleep and a good workout usually does the trick for me. Sometimes, I get bad anxiety and this has little to do with normal daily stresses. When my anxiety pangs hit, I will adopt a much, much slower life & work pace and if possible, take a spontaneous trip out of Singapore to recharge and recenter myself.

Q: What are your favourite skincare brands and why?

A: Estee Lauder is my constant, old favourite! The universally popular ANR series truly works. I also adore their fragrances and makeup, not just skincare!

Next up, Pixi Beauty. I have no idea how the brand does it, but almost all of their skincare hit the right spot for me. The collection most effective for my sensitive combination skin is their Rose range. K-beauty wise, I find that sU:M37 produces more hits than misses for me. I enjoy using their hydrating skincare products a lot.
